I’ve been a content creator for 5 years now, and during these times I have not only learned a lot about my job, but also so much about life itself.

Take a look at the truths I’m about to share with you and feel free to agree or disagree:

You are never satisfied with your work

Most of us make the error of thinking that one day it will be done. “If I can work enough, then one day I could unwind.”
Guess what? It never ends! You will always want more and the cycle is never-ending.

Most online creators crave other peoples’ likes and comments and they’re thinking:

If only I could get that many likes and comments, then I would be enough!

But we all know that by nature, humans are pro-active animals and they instantly lose the pleasure of the things they obtain for the price of wanting more.

The world will disappoint you

A perfect world doesn’t exist — the one where everybody plays by the book. It’s not a matter of who wins or loses, it’s a matter of the last man standing!

Let’s face it now:

Do you expect other people to like you?

Do you want other people to do things for you?

Do you consider the world where everybody get what they deserve?

If you’re thinking of any of these questions, chances are you are waiting for the external world to make wonders for you and that’s just utter delusion.

There’s no one to save you

The internet now is full of people who are shouting to your face:

I can save your ass!, Just click here, download my book, watch my video etc.

I always think we’re living in an age of fake gurus, a time where we depend too much on the external stimuli to improve our talents. You might say what’s wrong with improving my talents? Bear with me now.

The problem is instant gratification baby. We want everything in the fastest way possible and those click baits and catchy titles will steal the happiness from us.

It’s mostly 80% you and your efforts and 20% the external world.

Are you waiting for an employer, a mentor or guru to save you with magically improving your talents? If so, you might be waiting for a long time.

You’ll never find the perfect time to start

I knew I wanted to be a writer when I was younger. I didn’t start until I was 25. Maybe I was too immature to write anything of value until I’d lived a little, but I still wonder how much further along I could be now if I started earlier.

Your life purpose won’t make you happy

God know how much I overworked to get where I think I want to be. But when the time came and I got what I wanted, I wasn’t feeling the same kind of drive and ambition as before.

I guess in the end, It doesn’t matter whether you reach your dream goals or not, what matters is how you are living your life to reach those dreams.

Do you have any other life lessons you picked up along the way of becoming a content creator? Let’s hear it.
